Disaster Outreach Program
77th Annual Clothe-A-Child Program held December 6, 2011. Approximately 700 Elementary age children clothed with complete new outfit (10prs socks, 10prs underwear, pair of pants, a shirt and a zippered hoodie), also 80% of these children received a new winter coat. Fund raising began in November and continued through December to raise over $42,000. Total expenses for the program were approximately $50,000. Project involves over three months of planning and several volunteer groups besides the Terre Haute Noon Optimist Club. 0 0 0

0 Two fundraiser programs: Santa Clothes Club...raised $1,100 from members and matched $1000 from the Downtown Optimist Foundation for total given to Santa Clothes Club. Clothed 21 kids. This is annual program that is based out of Evansville IN and raises over $250,000 each year. Also raised $1500 for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign. We take one day and cover bell ringing at one location(local Walmart) We raised over $600 during our bell ringing. 0 JOOI Club...have restarted the one we had last year and is continuing through the efforts of a number of the members. Current 20-30 students attend. Second quarter continued with the JOOI Club...same number of children participated Youth Appreciate Week. Found job shadowing opportunities for over 30 students and recognized 4 student from four schools at the Youth of the Day. This was part of community wide effort of the local Optimist Clubs. Distributed funds from scholarship for Speech contest for one student to local university. 0
