Honored a child that received hearing aids from Clb on January 31. Awarded hearings aids to two children. Held a boys oratorical contest on February 16 and had 5 boys compete. Held a girls oratorical contest on February 23 and had 7 girls compete. Conducted Essay contest with 4 contestants. Participated in a Kids Against Hunger project with Club members and packaged over 1200 meals to be sent to Haiti. 0 0

*Thanksgiving giving to 6 families. Purchased food for each family for Thanksgving dinner-$650. *Christmas giving to 9 families. Gave these families monies for food and gifts-totaled $2000. *Sold Christmas trees for the 1st fundraiser of the 2009/2010 year. Local High School group assisted in unloading tree as their service project. They helped as well in the tear down. *On Dec. 24 large Apt Fire in our area, disrupted 20 families-donated $2000. *Gave local trustee $1150 for needy families in our service area. March 2, 2010 Had Youth Appreciation Banquet w/30 students and parents. Over 120 in attendance. Feb 18, 2010 Conducted Oratorical contest. Feb 28, 2010 Had student submit an essay thru our Club. May 30, 2010 Indy 500 race fund raiser. Parked nearly 700 cars June 3 members of our Club assisted The Town of Speedway celebrate the opening of their parks June Club helped sponsor the State Junior Golf Tourney in Clayton, IN April 5 There were 5 members at the Ronald McDonald House preparing the evening meal for 50 children and parents. June 15 gave 50 hand made pillow cases to the ConKerr Cancer Pillow Case project. 0 0 0

74th Annual Clothe-A-Child Program held December 12, 2009. Approximately 700 Elementary age children clothed with complete new outfit (10prs socks, 10prs underwear, pair of pants and a shirt), also 80% of these children received a new winter coat. Fund raising began in November and continued through December to raise over $38,000. Total expenses for the program were approximately $40,000. Project involves over three months of planning and several volunteer groups besides the Terre Haute Noon Optimist Club. 0 0 0

0 Two fundraiser programs: Santa Clothes Club...raised $1,100 from members and matched $1000 from the Downtown Optimist Foundation for total given to Santa Clothes Club. Clothed 21 kids. This is annual program that is based out of Evansville IN and raises over $250,000 each year. http://www.santaclothesclub.org/ Also raised $1500 for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign. We take one day and cover bell ringing at one location(local Walmart) We raised over $600 during our bell ringing. Youth Appreciate Week. Found job shadowing opportunities for over 30 students and recognized 1 student from three schools at the Youth of the Day. This was part of community wide effort of the local Optimist Clubs. 0 JOOI Club...have restarted the one we had last year and is continuing through the efforts of a number of the members. Current 20-30 students attend. Second quarter continued with the JOOI Club...same number of children participated Essay Contest conducted during second quarter. Awarded scholarship for winner and second and third place savings bonds Oratorical contest held for girls during second period. Awarded scholarship for first place and savings bonds for second and third place. Held NOW Meeting. Have four to five applications pending for processing. Raised money for RESPECT For Law camp at University of Southern Indiana. Was able to raise $530 to help 5 children to attend the week long camp to teach them about law enforcement and how they do many of the things we do. Part of the funds was matched by the Club Foundation. Continued with the JOOI Club the one we had last year and is continuing through the efforts of a number of the members. Current 30 students attend. Second quarter continued with the JOOI Club...same number of children participated. The JOOI club raised funds to give a a designated charity of their choice JR GOLF sponsorship of three golfers at the District Level, $300 from our foundation to support golfers fees Joshua Academy -- HOOPS for Scholars (JUNE) Sponsored $1250
